Communal storytelling is our birthright as humans. We are not just consumers: we are meant to not only experience stories but also to tell them together.
Our purpose is a consistent community, welcoming to all and contributing to our collective narrative.
Consistent community
We are building an ongoing artistic community intentionally focused on supporting and elevating each other and based around the recurring patterns of producing a show together.
- The most impactful art comes from relationships of trust and safety
- Good leaders elevate others, often stepping back rather than climbing up as they bring others into greater responsibility and leadership
- We are here for the show, we are here for each other, we are here for ourselves
Welcoming to all
We are intentionally oriented around community and education rather than a professional roles to better welcome full participation from those not in a position to pursue arts, media, or support roles as a vocation.
- In a world of limited resources, we don’t thoughtlessly push to do more, but to be creative with our limitations
- Everyone has a place, a contribution, and support around them
- We help and support each other, recognizing that asking and receiving help can be as much a responsibility as giving it
Contributing to our collective narrative
We believe in the power of stories to define who we are individually and collectively.
- Humor reveals truth. We shape and process collective narratives through humor. We default to kindness and anything with an edge always “punches up” at power, never down
- In a world increasingly shaped by commercially-motivated narratives, we strive to be intentionally communal rather than transactional
- Each person has stories only they can tell, and telling a story is as essential as hearing it
